Best Ever Yarn For Extreme Weather Socks!.
I've knit a few pairs of socks using Briggs & Little and have to share the secret about this often overlooked Canadian treasure! People often complain about B & L being too scratchy or having too much veggie matter mixed in. I was part of that group for a long time until this winter when I decided to try it out with a skein that had been languishing far too long in my stash. It wasn't overly scratchy while knitting, and the sport had very little VM in it at all. The biggest surprise came when I washed the socks. This yarn softens up beautifully, and as I was promised by the Briggs & Little group on Ravelry, you just can't "kill" Briggs & Little yarn. My socks, that I washed and wore on regular rotation all winter show absolutely no signs of wear at all. As a bonus this yarn creates possibly the warmest socks you could imagine. Perfect for long cold winters! Add in the price, which is extremely economical, you have the recipe for great knitting on a tight budget. I guarantee I'll be using more of it. (in fact I just bought two more skeins yesterday!)
